Everytime we turned around, we saw a smile, heard laughter, and felt the emotions in the room, which ends up rubbing off on us, and makes us work extra hard to document it all. So much fun. And to top it off, Athina had a TON of goodies to bring home (5 cars worth of very cool gifts).

09.13.08 - We headed upstate, assisting our friends Ryan Jensen & Alissa Moore, to the Osbourne Castle in Garrison, New York for Christina + Jason's beautiful wedding. This had to be one of the most emotional and heart warming weddings we have been a part of. The ceremony was beautiful, as they had all of the guest form a circle around them, to create unity, harmony, and share the love. Christina and her friends are all performers, so the night was filled with wonderful songs, dances, and theater surprises!

08.29.08 - We had such a great time with Tiffany & Shrujal this weekend. We were particularly excited because it was our first interfaith Hindu / Christian ceremony. Since the ceremony and reception were all held outdoors, we were all nervous about the clouds in the sky, but even when the rain started, it only seemed to make Tiffany and Shrujal's wedding at the Glen Cove Mansion more unique and more special.

08.16.08 - Kerri & Asa could not have picked a more beautiful day to get married. Every single time we spoke to them throughout the year, it was so obvious how excited they were to be getting married. Their energy carried them throughout the whole day, and it must have spread to the entire family, because this was one of the best wedding we have ever attended. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and smiles all the way around and lasted till the final minutes of the wedding. We are going to miss these two a lot, and we are so happy for them as they start their new lives and careers together. Thank you Kerri & Asa for sharing your special day with us!

Karen + Jonathan's Wedding

08.09.08 - This was such a fun wedding. We met Jonathan & Karen at the luxurious 4 Seasons Hotel in Manhattan, where they were preparing for their big day. As they were getting ready, Jon & Karen started the day off by passing romantic notes to each other. To get an idea how excited they were, in the morning, we heard Jonathan tell his brother that he was waiting for this day his entire life. Once they were ready, they agreed to meet before the ceremony, so we would have more time to take portraits together. Jonathan & Karen celebrated their wedding ceremony & reception on the beautiful Atlantis Yacht, and we had the privilege to 2nd shoot the whole event along side our friends Julia Newman and Bobby Wagner (they both rock!).

08.03.08 - We knew this was going to be a special session from the moment Shankar and Sumana presented us with a bottle of wine to start the day. The weather was beautiful, their outfits were looking sharp, and once again, Central Park was our canvas. Sumana and Shankar chose the park to have their engagement session, because that's where the question was popped, in early May, by the Bethesda Terrace. Shankar's mom (who happens to be the most sweetest lady ever) was there with us, making sure their outfits were looking perfect, and providing awesome guidance. Sumana and Shankar, we had an amazing time with you two, and we hope you can take us with you to San Antonio! :-)

Mubina + Andrew's Wedding!

06.28.08 - Mubina & Andrew had such a beautiful outdoor wedding. It was a magical day, where we had luck on our side, and dodged the rain for just a long enough amount of time, to tie the knot! We met Andrew and the guys early in the morning, as they got ready; shortly after, we took a limo ride to the beautiful Central Park Conservatory Garden where Mubina and the girls were waiting for us. After the ceremony, we headed a few blocks south to the Goethe Institute, where family and friends were ready to celebrate Mubina & Andrew's new life together. We covered the day along side the totally cool & awesome Punam Bean!

When we met Andrew in Long Island City, we could tell he was ready to get married:

All that hard work preparing the bow tie paid off! Andrew looked marvelous!

07.05.08 - When we first met Melissa, she had a special glow about her, the type of glow that can only be found during a time of extreme happiness. Before her wedding, she informed us how excited she was about getting married. Melissa met Matt when she was still in high school, as blind dates, and now years later, we were joining them for their wedding at The Villa Borghese in Wappinger Falls, NY.

We could tell that Melissa & Matt could not wait to spend their lives together, and we were so happy to be there with them.

Their Bridal Shower / House Warming party was held intimately with close friends and family in their new home. Abby's maid of honor, Joy, did an unbelievable job of turning their backyard into a festive space for us to all spend the afternoon together. It was an amazing afternoon filled with laughter, music, games, and delicious Caribbean food. Abby & Neil: Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and new home!

05.31.08 - Cynthia & Nick show us how the times have changed: they first met on match.com, and now, after several wonderful years together, they are tying the knot! I started the day off at Nick's house, while the very awesome Jason Groupp documented Cynthia's morning. Later on, we all met at St. Agnes Church, and then headed over to the Hempstead Golf & Country Club to celebrate.

Yesterday, we took a trip to Long Beach, NY to meet Kerri & Asa for their very special engagement session. We started off on the boardwalk, hit the beach, and then ended up in the water. It was an absolute blast! After their engagement session, we went out to dinner, where we got caught up in the middle of a thunder storm, yikes! I'm so glad everybody got home safely. Marisa + Michael's Wedding!

05.25.08 - Marisa & Michael picked one of the most beautiful days of the year to get married. I had the privilege to shoot alongside my friend, mentor, and one of NYC's top 10 wedding photographers, Jason Groupp. Jason and I met Marisa at her hotel room where the excitement was high, and everybody was getting ready for her big day. After Marisa and Michael saw each other for the first time, we headed over to The Planting Fields for some spectacular photos, and then partied the night away at The Crest Hollow Country Club.

After they tied the knot, we headed over to The Manhattan Penthouse to celebrate, where the view was spectacular, and the music was rocking all night long! Yesterday we took a trip to North Bergen, NJ to shoot an engagement session for Jessica and Carlo. We were lucky that they live in such a beautiful part of town, that we were able to do the whole shoot right by their home. After shooting, we went out for some delicious Cuban food at Sabor. They served us some tasty food (especially the chocolate bread pudding). Jess & Carlo are such cool friends, we are so excited about their wedding next year in Costa Rica!!

Asia Trip Part 2: Hong Kong

Now for Part 2 of last night's post... After the 1st week in Taiwan, we went back to Hong Kong to enjoy the beautiful city, eat the HK snacks, and visit Tak's relatives. It was fun photographing the city, Hong Kong has some amazing buildings. We were so lucky to enjoy beautiful weather the whole week.

Wooo we are back! After some very long plane rides, a lot of chinese food, and a bunch of naps; we are back in NYC. What an amazing trip we had... Taiwain... Hong Kong & China. Did I mention the food? It was soooo good.

1st night off the plane we stopped by a night market in Taiwan. Take a look:

Next morning we walked to the beach to enjoy some sunshine. Phil took 1 step too many into the water and fell straight in. I wasn't sure if I should give him a hand and help him up, or just take pictures of his foolishness. Well, here are the pics:

Ahhh it was super warm out there. We were in Kenting, Taiwan. Beautiful!

After the beach, we decided to explore the land. We stopped by this spiffy 5 Star Hotel to relax by the pool.

But, it didn't take long for security to stop us and send us packing to our hotel next door :-(

A lot of the kids were coming from Taipei to enjoy the beach. Everybody rides a scooter. They look fun!

Tony & Sonya's NYC Engagement!

What an unforgettable weekend this has been. On Friday night, Tony proposed to Sonya on the ice at Rockefeller Center! It was super romantic: Tony was able to clear the ice, play the first song they danced to (Joe - I wanna Know), and then got down on his knees and proposed to Sonya in front of New York City! His "Engagement on Ice" at Rockefeller Center, was very emotional, and the crowd watching the excitement below was roaring with joy. And so were we!

To cap off the magical weekend, the next morning before their flight back home to Houston, Texas, we went out for an engagement session. I could see it in their eyes how happy they were, and we felt so lucky to get the opportunity to share this special moment in their lives with them. I can't wait until we meet again, and it feels awesome to have two new friends out in Texas now! You two rock!

03.16.08 - We took a break from eating chocolate cookies, watching youtube videos, and dancing around the house like silly fools, and we decided to take out the camera. :-)

As we were out in the backyard for some fresh air, Tak spotted some nice soft light to take some pictures in.

And of course I had to return the favor:

It didn't take long for me to run back into the house, for more chocolate cookies:

St. Baldrick's 2008: Finding a Cure for Children's Cancer

03.13.08 - Congratulations to Team General Re for raising $100,000!!! What a great cause this is; St. Baldrick’s is a head-shaving event to raise money for childhood cancer research. Each "shavee" collects donations from friends and families to support the cause. Children in cancer treatment typically lose their hair, and through the St. Baldrick’s event, businessmen, businesswomen, moms, dads, friends and others now shave their heads to show the world they support children with cancer and that it is okay to be bald. The funds collected support the Children's Oncology Group - the world's foremost network of childhood cancer researchers.

I feel so honored that I was invited to be a part of this special night. We were at the Bradford's Bar & Grill in Stamford, CT. It was hot, jam packed, and there was hair all over the place, but what a blast! :-)

I had a chance to meet Stamford's Mayor Malloy, a lot of really cool Gen Reinsurance employees, and was lucky enough to capture the magic that night as well.

03.08.08: : Anna + Shaun got married in Brooklyn, NY at the beautiful Queen of All Saints Church. We then proceeded to Grand Central Station, in a wild limo ride :-), and ended the night in Flushing, NY at The Ocean Jewels restaurant for the reception with their close families and friends. The pan fried noodles there were one of the best that I have had in a long time. I covered the wedding with the ultra cool, ultra hip Yun Gen Yang. It was such an awesome day.....Enjoy!

Fun Night... Here's a few photos on our way home after dinner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you ever are in the Williamsburg area, Sea is a great Thai restaurant to eat at. Very cool food, people, and atmosphere. And if you make it down there, make sure to order a "Mad Dragon" for dessert! Yummy!! Also do try to get there early, because it can get pretty crowded.

As we were heading home, I decided to take a couple of photos. One of the things I absolutely love about my camera is it's ability to perform in demanding low light situations. Take a look at this ultra cool Moon shot that I grabbed (if you look real close, you can even see the American flag waving, haha):

And then my good buddy Raymond decided to give me his best mean guy pose on the street corner.

We had an amazing opportunity to shoot an after wedding photo shoot with Adrienne & Scott! They are both so classy, so beautiful, and so much fun to be around! After every few shots we had to take a break and warm up for a bit but you would never be able to tell from the photos, because these two are super-troopers! Isn't Adrienne's smile beautiful??

And there we go acting silly again on a shoot!! (doesn't Tak look like a Polar Bear?)

Kaitlin + Ray - Engaged!

Even though they picked the coldest day of the year to have an engagement shoot, Kaitlin and Ray are an ultra cool Brooklyn couple that is getting ready for their big day in October! :-)

Not only did we have a fantastic time running around together and taking pictures, they even brought out their adorable dog Chewy! He may look small, but please beware, because that pup is 100% MAN!

What a wonderful day we had, and we were so lucky to share it with a beautiful couple: Angelica & Michael! Even though I felt like a popsicle stick, it was so much fun shooting downtown in the city... we were running around, doing the salsa in the streets, and just making the most of the chilly weather we have here! So fun! :-)

Brrrrrrrr...... Winter Time in NYC!

Brrrrr... Another freezing cold week in the city! It's nights like these when I really miss the warm weather. Last winter we took a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The water and beaches were beautiful.

We recently had the honor of doing a photo shoot with Vaughn. The dedication that he has to stay in such phenomenal shape is out of this world! What a fun shoot, we turned Brooklyn into an army training facility, haha. Most importantly, I'm so glad he loved shooting with me cause otherwise he may have crushed my camera with his bare hands!

Albany Trip

A few weeks ago some friends and I took a road trip up to Albany. Phil was excited to be back and visit his school. We had so many laughs out there, and they have the best wings! I would do it again, but I just wish the drive wasn't so farrrrr!

Happy New Years everybody! I'm excited about starting this blog. Yesterday was great! We went out and walked around the city with fellow photographer Jonathan. The streets were so crowded because of New Years Eve, but we took a few very nice photos (take a look at that black & white of Tak, look so classic!).
